Some of the Best Spots in Southern California

Almost two and a half years ago my husband (then fiancĂ©) and I moved from Indiana to California and since then, we have visited several fun destinations.  We have done a lot of exploring.  I haven’t been everywhere and still have a ton to see but these are my favorite spots so far.  I have broken them up into 4 categories: beaches, views, parks, and hikes.  There is some overlap but that’s okay. BEACHES 1000 Steps Beach in Laguna This beach is on the south end of Laguna.  It has free street parking (get there early) and is pretty large.  You walk down what…

    Gingham Sweater

JEANS: Target |  SWEATER: H&M  |  BOOTS: T.J. Maxx (similar)  |  BACKPACK: Ted Baker London  |  HEADBAND: H&M            I bought this cute sweater on Black Friday from H&M.  I think I got it for around $6, because I had additional discounts. I think it is super cute.  I love the preppy look of it, especially with the pearl headband.  I also got this backpack recently as a gift to myself for getting the job I really wanted.  I promised myself I’d pick out a new bag if when I got a new job.  I currently work as a Sample Coordinator for Nordstrom Rack/Hautelook.  I work in the studio…

    San Diego Zoo on Halloween

You can’t tell with this awful lighting but my cotton candy is candy corn colored!           I haven’t had time to create any outfit posts lately because of work and the time change making it dark so early, so I thought I’d talk about the San Diego Zoo.  I visited it last week on Halloween for the first time.  They weren’t really doing much to celebrate Halloween, it was just a coincidence that we went that day.  It is such an amazing zoo.  I heard it was supposed to be the best one in the country and that is so true.  Although it is pretty expensive…

    Balboa Park

TOP: Forever 21  |  SHORTS: Target (alternative women shorts)  |  PURSE: Topshop  |  SANDALS: Forever 21  |  SUNGLASSES: Marshall’s  |  CHOKER & RING: Rocksbox  (Use code: fancyfashioncastlexoxo for first month free!)            I really want to start this post by saying that I did not plan to pair this top with these shorts.  I think it would look better with denim shorts but I don’t have any that fit.  I went wearing my mom jeans and brought these shorts in case it got too hot.  It was super hot out so I had to change.  I still like the outfit, i’d just prefer it with denim shorts.        …
