My husband and I took a little day trip to Santa Barbara yesterday. It’s only an hour and a half from Los Angeles and we haven’t really spent much time there. When we came to California on vacation several years ago we visited a beach in Santa Barbara. I’m pretty sure that’s all I had done there. I’ve been wanting to go back just to see the city and explore the area. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s such a pretty city. It’s much more laid back than what I expected as well.
We quickly stopped by the Old Mission first. It was really pretty but we couldn’t do much because we had my dog. We were able to walk through the olive trees. The garden was closed and we couldn’t go inside. I’d like to go back and see more of it in the future. It was really hot out so after that we headed to Stearns Warf. It’s a huge fishing pier with restaurants. We just walked around because we wanted to see the views. It was nice because dogs are allowed and parking was free. Then we wanted to stop by the beach so we went to Arroyo Burro Beach. It’s a really nice secluded beach. This is the same beach we went to about 5 years ago. We stayed there for about an hour and a half. Luca (my dog) had a ton of fun. Then we got some food from East Beach Tacos. This was literally the best taco that I have ever had so I highly recommend it. It was a bit pricy though. Lastly, we stopped by this rainbow sculpture called the Chromatic Gate. I saw it on Instagram and wanted to get a photo. Overall it was a super fun day. There is still a lot that I want to do in Santa Barbara so I will be back. I am also planning on doing a more formal post in the future about what to see and do. Stay tuned!
