After losing my favorite Cynthia Rowley umbrella (featured in this post) in New York City a few months ago, I had to get a new one. I really wanted one that has some sort of interesting pattern. I love floral so that’s probably what drew me to this one. Plus, I love the way the panels switch off between large and small floral print. Umbrellas are one of those accessories where there isn’t much emphasis put into the design. There are pretty much just a few patterns available. It’s really hard to find the perfect one, or even one that’s mildly original. I was in a hurry to have one for Fall, so I cut my search short and bought this one online from Saks Fifth Ave. I do really love this one though. Even the most expensive, designer umbrellas are pretty boring. I’d love to design umbrellas at some point in my career. I feel like there is a lot of missed opportunity there.
