New Home Decor: Part 5
PILLOWS: World Market (may be available in stores, sold out online) I originally only bought one of these for the bed but I decided I like it better on the couch so I got another one. They are too big for the bed and match the living room rug better. LARGE BASKET: Ikea (available in store) | 3 SET: Ikea I got this larger basket to put plastic bags in and the smaller one has protein bars. The smaller basket came in a set of three. The other two are below. SCRATCH MAP: Waypoint Wanders | PICTURE FRAME: Target I’ve been wanting a scratch map for many years and…

Venice Beach Canals
TOP: White Willow | SHORTS: Target | SANDALS: Kensie | BACKPACK: Sole Society | HAIR SCRUNCHIE: Anthropologie | NECKLACE: Assembled myself I have been wanting to check out the Venice Beach Canals since moving to Southern California, and haven’t gotten around to it until now. They are pretty famous and I always see photos of them and hear about them but had never been. Venice Beach gets super crowded on weekends and makes visiting almost impossible. We tried to go last Sunday but couldn’t find parking and had to leave. My husband and I just happened to be off Monday evening and decide to go…

Styling Gingham for Summer
SKIRT: Reclaimed Vintage (Asos) | SANDALS: Wanted | BAG: Unbranded (T.J. Maxx) | SUNGLASSES: Unbranded (T.J. Maxx) | T-SHIRT: H&M I have been a lover of gingham since basically forever. It just always reminds me of summer because so many picnic blankets come in gingham print. I think Gingham can be good for fall and winter as well, but summer is more fun to style in my opinion. I love this skirt because of the diagonal ruffle and the length. I love how it is a bit longer than traditional midi skirts. Midi skirts are normally unflattering on me because of my muscular calfs. This…

Loverbeauty Waist Trainers
Loverbeauty Neoprene Sweat Waist Slim Shaper Shorts Hey guys! Today I am talking about Loverbeauty waist trainers. I know there is a time in almost every woman’s life when she can use one of these. There are different types for different occasions. Loverbeauty has so many options of styles and they come in different colors as well. You may be going to some sort of event where you have to dress up and want your waist to be more smooth. That’s what I would wear one for if I was to wear one. They seem very convenient for the kind of dresses that are made of…

Ruffled One-Piece
SWIMSUIT: H&M | SHORTS: Zara | SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V. | EARRINGS: Kate Spade | BEACH BAG: Bath and Body Works (gift) I got this swimsuit about a month and a half ago from H&M. I fell in love with the fabric and style. I actually bought it in a small and had to return it and get an extra small. It’s only available online, but it is so pretty. I’ve been looking for more one-piece swimsuits because I feel like they are more comfortable than bikinis. The only thing that kind of bothers me about this suit is that it is too high-cut, otherwise it would…

A Day in Santa Barbara
DRESS: See You Monday | BAG: T.J. Maxx (similar cute ones) | SANDALS: Forever 21 | NECKLACE: Made myself, supplies from Hobby Lobby | HEADBAND: H&M (similar) | SUNGLASSES: T.J. Maxx My husband and I took a little day trip to Santa Barbara yesterday. It’s only an hour and a half from Los Angeles and we haven’t really spent much time there. When we came to California on vacation several years ago we visited a beach in Santa Barbara. I’m pretty sure that’s all I had done there. I’ve been wanting to go back just to see the city and explore the area. I have to…

Fairy Cookies
I made these cookies for my husband’s birthday, after making them one other time before. He loves them and ate them all in two days. I kind of came up with the idea myself, although I’m sure I am not the first one to do it. I found a basic no-roll sugar cookie recipe online and modified it a bit. A lot of recipes have you roll the cookies in sugar as the last step but I thought it would be fun to roll them in a mixture of colored sugar and sprinkles instead. You can use any sprinkles you want to. I just found…

How to be Confident Wearing Color
Top: Forever 21 | Pants: Forever 21 | Sandals: Abound This may be a little difficult for me to explain because I’ve personally never had any issues wearing bright colors. I have always been naturally drawn to color. I couldn’t imagine avoiding it. I have just heard people over the span of my life say something along the lines of “I can’t pull that off, it’s too bright.” Based off previous conversations and observations, it seems that a lot of people think that if they wear a bright color it will make them stand out too much. I don’t think this is the case. When…

My Plant Collection
Aloe: This one is doing pretty well but it does loose a leaf every once in a while. Bamboo: This bamboo has changed very little since I got it. It may have gotten slightly bigger but I’m not even sure. The leaves will get a little brown on the ends. Polka-Dot-Plant: This one looked totally different when I first got it. The leaves were very pink. A bunch of them fell off and it started to grow longer and more like a vine. I’m not really sure if it’s happy or not. Lily: I think this is a peace lily but I’m not 100% sure. It lost all…
