My birthday was this past weekend and I went to Big Bear for the day on Saturday.   I wanted to celebrate and see some fall leaves, since LA obviously doesn’t have many.  I think we have gone to Big Bear in the fall every year since living here.  I really miss changing leaves.  I can’t say I’m a fan of southern California autumns.  I chose to go to Big Bear because I didn’t want to go too late and miss the peak leaf time (which we kind of missed anyway).  I was planning on going to the Huntington Garden in Pasadena but it was closed during my entire birthday weekend for some reason.

While we were there we didn’t do a ton of stuff, just kind of did the few things we usually do.  We stopped by the Discovery Center to get a new National Park Pass, you need a parking pass to hike most of the trails there.  Then we went to get pumpkin donuts at Dank Donuts.  They were probably the best donuts I’ve ever had.  I do not recommend the coffee though.  Then, we went for a short hike.  We stopped at a city park to look at the lake.  The water level is so low though, it’s really sad.  Lastly, we walked around the shops.  Then on the way home we stopped at my favorite Thai restaurant.  It was a pretty fun day but next time I’d like to find some new things to do.

This sweater is one of my newer purchases.  I love the embroidered stars so, so much, along with the colorful cuffs and neckline.  It’s one of the many sweaters that I found at T.J. Maxx.  I love getting sweaters from there because they are unique, cute, and often affordable.  It’s fun because I feel like they get new stock super often and all stores carry something a little different.  I never feel like what I buy will be worn by everybody else.
