I don’t think it’s possible for me to choose my favorite place on this trip.  We visited so many amazing spots.  This post is about more of Minnesota, north of Duluth.  We stopped at a bunch of parks and saw tons of water falls.
The first place in this post is Pattison State Park.  Big Manitou Falls is the highest waterfall in Wisconsin.  I didn’t expect any of these waterfall to be near as big as they are.  It really surprised me how huge they are because I didn’t do a ton of research before we left.   I only looked at a few pictures and everything looks less impressive in pictures.  The next spot is Two Harbors, MN.  The coast us there is so rocky and interesting.  It reminds me so much of the Pacific Northwest tide pools.  The only thing missing is the marine life.  Check out my post from there and see for yourself, HERE.  The third place in this post is Gooseberry State Park.  Gooseberry Falls is a massive waterfall that is spread throughout different levels.  You can walk out on it and swim in all of the little waterfalls.  It was really amazing.  It flows straight into Lake Superior.  Next is Split Rock Lighthouse, which is my new favorite lighthouse (and I’ve seen a lot).  It’s just one of those perfect, stereotypical lighthouses that looks like it is straight out of a movie.  It could be located anywhere in the world, you just wouldn’t expect to see something like that on the Great Lakes.  Lastly, Grand Marais, MN is another one of those small towns with a bunch of shops and restaurants, right on the water.  We ate fresh fish at one of the restaurants and it was amazing.  We also did some exploring on the rocks.
