My fiancĂ© proposed to me while we were on our trip in Europe.  Specifically, he proposed at the Palace of Versailles.  I didn’t know it was going to happen.  Although, I had a bit of a feeling.  It was pretty much a surprise.  I don’t think any of it was too planned out but the way it worked out was pretty perfect.  I had actually planned on blogging my outfit this day, so that’s why there are some outfit pictures.  We went to the gardens first because they open an hour before the palace so he knew they would be pretty empty.  We spent some time exploring the gardens.  They are seriously incredible.  I’d like to return some time when the weather is warm because the fountains were all off.  He chose the spot right next to this huge fountain, near the back entrance to the palace.  The day was a bit rainy, but luckily it didn’t really start till after.  I don’t want to share too much detail but it was just perfect (except maybe the weather).  We celebrated afterwords by going out to eat at an Italian restaurant, getting some macarons from Laudree, and champagne.
The palace itself is very pretty.  I recommend getting your ticket in advance.  It doesn’t really save much time because you still have to wait in a huge line but it will save a little.  Everything inside is absolutely amazing.  The gold detail on everything is just my style, lol.  I really love extravagance. We got a Christmas ornament from the gift shop as a souvenir and to remember that day but I left it in the hotel room, sadly.  I always try to get souvenir Christmas ornaments from everywhere I travel to.
