This past weekend we did some fall hiking in Big Bear Lake to see colorful leaves.  Although the leaves don’t get as vibrant as some areas in the U.S. it’s still nice to see a bit of fall color.  There aren’t many areas around L.A. where the leaves actually change.  We went to Big Bear last fall as well.  Fall leaves is something I really miss about the midwest.  It’s nice to have descent weather year round but not so fun in the fall.  This is also the start of my birthday week.  My birthday is on the 29th but I wanted to celebrate it the weekend before because my actual birthday is on a weekday.  October is one of my favorite months because of my birthday and all of the fun of fall.

Hiking around the lake is pretty easy to do.  There are a ton of trails that you can access.  We normally go on the same one.  I’m not sure the name of it and I can’t find it on a map but it’s back in a neighborhood and goes up a mountain.  It has lake views and allows dogs.  You can find a lot of them online and get a map at the Discovery Center (which is currently temporarily closed).

The weather was a little chilly (60’s) so I wanted to dress a bit warmer than I normally do.  I wore this cute cardigan that I got for myself as a birthday gift.  It’s very soft and is made of speckled chenille.  I absolutely love it! I got it from T.J. Maxx a few weeks ago.  I just paired it with basics that are my go-to.  I wear this white t-shirt and mom jeans all the time.
