Ice Fest

Saturday I spent the day in St. Joseph, Michigan for the Ice Fest. It’s just a little festival where there are all sorts of activities throughout the weekend, revolving around ice carving. There was a contest and some guys doing ice carving demonstrations while we were there. Some of the carvings were really impressive. There was a chair made out of ice that you can sit in. That was pretty neat. My favorite sculpture was the mermaid, it won second place. Most of the shops in town had a little carving out in the front of their store that was in some way representing the business. Some of them were symbols, others were signs or logos. It was really cool. We also walked down to the beach, went out to eat, and did some shopping. Successful Saturday!
