Mermaid Territory

          Since we were driving up the coast on Highway 1, we were able to stop at a lot of beaches with tide pools.  We were lucky enough to be by some during low tide.  They were just so incredibly lively.  Each pocket of water was filled with urchins, anemones, starfish, barnacles, clams, and crabs.  There were also a lot of seals lounging on the rocks.  Seals have become one of my favorite animals, since going on this trip.  There are these huge rocks everywhere, with pockets of water and waves splashing over.  It just felt like the kind of place that mermaids would love to hang out.
