Petoskey, Charlevoix, Traverse City, and Ludington

After an amazing day in Mackinac Island, we spent the next day slowing driving back home. We stopped at several towns in Michigan along the Lake. We visited some of my favorite northern towns. First was Petoskey. We went to an awesome Cafe called Roast & Toast. Then we just walked around the downtown area and hung out at the harbor. We walked out on the break wall too. It was early in the morning so the water was really clear and sparkly because of the location of the sun.

Next we went to Charlevoix. What I really love about this town is the set up of the harbor. Everything is just so clean and pretty. There is also a downtown area with lots of shops. My boyfriend and I got matching Michigan T-shirts. I know it’s cheesy, but it’s also fun and kind of cute. We went to a bar/restaurant that was right on the water. I don’t remember the name of it but it was amazing. They had all Michigan beers on tap and really good food. I got a Naan pizza and by boyfriend got a grilled mac and cheese sandwich. Let me emphasize that, a grilled MAC AND CHEESE SANDWICH!

We went to Traverse City next. It was raining when we got there but it cleared up really quickly. We both put on our new t-shirts. It was pretty cool too because the bottoms we were both wearing happened to match our matching t-shirts. We were both able to leave on half of our outfits and the color scheme matched each other too. My boyfriend and I always dress alike accidentally. I don’t know if that is normal or not. We never plan any of it. We always just accidentally match. Does anybody else ever do that with their significant other accidentally? We also checked out Cherry Republic. It’s really cool because it sells a bunch of different products that are made with cherry. We bought some cherry wine. They also have free wine tasting!

We didn’t plan on stopping in Ludington but it worked out that we were hungry when we were passing by. We ate dinner and ice cream at House of Flavors. It was the only thing open and it was pretty good. They give you so much ice-cream in one scoop. We also stopped by the beach at twilight one last time. It was the perfect way to end the trip.
