After landing in San Francisco, we drove north up the coast of California. We stopped at a lot of incredible overlooks. We also went to a few beaches and State Parks. The cliffs along Highway 1 are amazing. They are so much higher up than I remembered. It’s been several years since I have been on Highway 1 and I have missed it so much! One of our main destinations was Redwood National Park and Fern Valley. I have been dying to go back there for a long time too. I just love how prehistoric the Redwood trees feel. They are so enormous. It’s hard to comprehend how large they actually are. Looking up, you feel like an insect in a field. Fern Valley is a valley with a small stream running through it. The walls are completely covered in Ferns. It’s pretty much like a fairytale. I’m already planning to go back in the near future and hope to someday live in California.
