Shirred Top in Solvang

          I visited Solvang, California this past weekend for the third time.  The last time was last summer and the first time was a few years ago before I lived in California.  I love this little town so much.  If you haven’t been you need to check it out, especially if you like Dutch architecture.  It’s seriously one of my favorite day trips from Los Angeles.  It takes a little over 2 hours if you don’t get traffic.  There are a lot of things to do there for entertainment.  There are lots of restaurants, boutiques and souvenir shops, wineries, and a few other things.  I love to go just to wander around and look at all of the cute buildings.  It truly makes you feel like you are in a fairytale, or maybe just Europe.  Every time I go I find new little spots that I haven’t seen before.  The tourist area spans several blocks so It would likely take more than one visit to see everything or maybe if you were there for an entire day that would be enough.  

          I wore this cute shirred top that I found at T.J. Maxx and these new shorts.  I have been seeing shirred fabric everywhere lately and I feel like it will be the most trendy style this summer.  If you are not familiar with shirring it is when fabric has elastic rows sewing into it so it is super stretchy and ruched.  I already have several shirred pieces like this and I love them.  They are so comfortable and flattering.  One convenient aspect is that they are super stretchy so that you can fit into them if you lose or gain weight.  In my last post I was actually wearing another shirred top that I bought the same time as this one.  Be sure to be on the lookout for some when doing some summer shopping because they are seriously cute and comfortable.  But honestly, you probably already own some.
