Have You Heard of Golden Valley Ranch Open Space?

Golden Valley Ranch Open Space is a large open area that you can hike in Santa Clarita, California.  I found it on Google Maps one day and it looked amazing because of all of the green fields and hills.  Me and my husband visited it one time last spring, thinking it would be green but all the grass was already brown.  Ever since then, I have been wanting to return during winter.  In California, in winter it normally rains a lot and everything gets super vibrant.  We went back this past weekend because we have been getting so much rain lately.  As you can see, the hills are…

    Red Rock Canyon Park, Malibu

Red Rock Canyon Park is a nice park, tucked away in the mountains in Malibu.  I didn’t know it was there for several years, but recently discovered it on Google Maps.  I’m always looking for new places to hike.  What I really like about this park is the color of the rocks and how it feels out of place.  It feels kind of like you are in Utah or something.  There are so many parks around the world with the name Red Rock Canyon so I’m going to show you exactly where it is.  A lot of parks in Malibu are hard to find.  It’s…

Best Spot in Laguna: Heisler Park

DRESS: By the River  |  BAG: H&M  |  SUNGLASSES: Glik’s  |  SANDALS: Loeffler Randall           Surely I have mentioned this park in the past, because I love it so much.  I’m talking about Heisler Park in Laguna Beach.  It’s pretty much my favorite spot in Laguna.  Obviously, the actual beach is my favorite spot, but I mean aside from that.  It’s an ocean-front park that is based on the cliffs.  There are a few other parks connected to it as well.  What’s so cool about this park is all of the paths and sitting areas.  It’s an amazing spot to chill out and look at the…

    2 Days in San Francisco

Over Labor Day weekend my husband, dog, and I took a road trip from L.A. to San Francisco.  We hadn’t been back since moving to California.  If you don’t know, it’s about a 6-7 hour drive. I’ve been several times but this was only my husband’s second time, so we wanted to make the most of it.  And we did.  We accomplished so much in the span of a 3 day weekend.  If you want to see previous posts, I will link them HERE and HERE.  I’m going to talk about all of the things we were able to do, in case you are planning a trip.…

    Venice Beach Canals

TOP: White Willow  |  SHORTS: Target  |  SANDALS: Kensie  |  BACKPACK: Sole Society  |  HAIR SCRUNCHIE: Anthropologie | NECKLACE: Assembled myself           I have been wanting to check out the Venice Beach Canals since moving to Southern California, and haven’t gotten around to it until now.  They are pretty famous and I always see photos of them and hear about them but had never been.  Venice Beach gets super crowded on weekends and makes visiting almost impossible.  We tried to go last Sunday but couldn’t find parking and had to leave.  My husband and I just happened to be off Monday evening and decide to go…

    Ruffled One-Piece

SWIMSUIT: H&M  |  SHORTS: Zara  |  SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V.  |  EARRINGS: Kate Spade  | BEACH BAG: Bath and Body Works (gift)          I got this swimsuit about a month and a half ago from H&M.  I fell in love with the fabric and style.  I actually bought it in a small and had to return it and get an extra small.  It’s only available online, but it is so pretty.  I’ve been looking for more one-piece swimsuits because I feel like they are more comfortable than bikinis.  The only thing that kind of bothers me about this suit is that it is too high-cut, otherwise it would…

    A Day in Santa Barbara

Maxx           My husband and I took a little day trip to Santa Barbara yesterday.  It’s only an hour and a half from Los Angeles and we haven’t really spent much time there.  When we came to California on vacation several years ago we visited a beach in Santa Barbara.  I’m pretty sure that’s all I had done there.  I’ve been wanting to go back just to see the city and explore the area.  I have to…

    Day Trip to Solvang

TOP: Lulu’s  |   SKIRT: Lulu’s  |  SANDALS: Forever 21  |  BAG: Coach  |  SUNGLASSES: T.J. Maxx            I’ve been wanting to return to Solvang since we moved to California but we haven’t really gotten around to it until now.  Last time I was there was almost 5 years ago.  It was raining and cloudy, not the best day.  It’s a little over 2 hours from Los Angeles, good for a day trip.  I love European inspired towns.  This one is Danish and every single corner of this town fits that theme.  If that’s your thing (like it is mine) you should really check it out sometime.…

    2 Days in Big Sur

If you saw my last post, you probably know that My husband and I went to Big Sur last weekend.  We haven’t gone anywhere in almost a year.  Obviously, that’s because of the pandemic.  We had a trip to Japan planned for March but had to cancel.  We were planning on celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary there.  The reason we initially thought we had to cancel is because our layover was in China.  Little did we know that we wouldn’t be able to even leave the country.  We planned a series of back up trips that all fell through, of course.  Then we booked airfare…
