    Colorado Street Bridge, Pasadena

I’ve driven past this bridge several times and have never gotten the chance to stop until today.  It’s the Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena, CA.  This bridge really stands out because of the architecture and it’s height.  It’s really tall.  When it was build in 1913, it was the tallest concrete bridge in the world.  I didn’t realize that and I think that is so interesting.  It’s age was also a bit surprising to me as well.  The bridge is in such good shape I thought it was a bit newer.  If you want to read more about the history of the bridge you can…

    Visiting Descanso Gardens

DRESS: Betsy Johnson  |  SANDALS: Walmart  |  SUNGLASSES: Glik’s  |  BACKPACK: Sole Society           If you live in or are visiting Southern California you may want to check out one of the many botanical gardens that are here.  This weekend I visited Descanso Gardens for the first time.  It’s located in La Canada Flintridge, North of Los Angeles.  It’s $15 per person to enter and parking is free.  It’s a large garden that is divided up into separate spaces, depending on the type of plant.  It’s very similar to most botanical gardens that I have been to.  They also have a lot of art installations and…

    Big Bear in the Summer

TOP: H&M (still available in stores)  |  JEANS: Asos |  BAG: Walmart  |  SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V.        This past weekend we went back to Big Bear Lake.  It’s one of those places that i’ve wanted to bring my future dog to.  Now that I have one, we can take him.  It’s a little mountain town, surrounding a lake in southern California.  We have been there twice before, once in winter and once and once in fall.  It’s nice because the weather actually changes there so if we want to remember what seasons feel like, we can go.  There are a bunch of hiking trails around the lake and in the mountains, a cute downtown with shops…

    Exploring Kenneth Hahn Park

T-SHIRT: H&M  |  SHORTS: Target  |  SHOES: Target  |  PURSE: Botkier (similar)  |  SUNGLASSES: Zero UV           Sunday we found out that Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area is open and allows dogs.  I’m not sure if it has been open this whole time, or if it just opened.  We have been staying home for the most part, like everybody else and it is really hard on our puppy.  He is starting to show signs of separation anxiety when we leave together because he is used to being with us nonstop.  Also, he is really bored and not getting enough stimulation and exercise.  We have been trying to find methods to get him…

    Louis Vuitton Exhibit

TOP: H&M  |  SKIRT: H&M  |  SHOES: Massini (similar)  |  PURSE: Coach  |  NECKLACE: Gift           Sunday we stopped by the Louis Vuitton pop-up exhibit in Beverly Hills.  I had seen a lot about it on social media and wanted to check it out.  It’s a free exhibit/museum that focuses on Louis Vuitton.  When you first walk in there is a bunch of original trunks and bags that were made by him.  Then, it moves along to silk scarves, collaborations, and unique bags.  There are a bunch of cool photo opportunities as well.  One room is full of dresses that were worn by celebrities on the…

Maxx  |  BACKPACK: Primark  |  SANDALS: H&M ($7 in store)  |  NECKLACE: Forever 21           I’ve been wanting to check out Chinatown in L.A. since moving here 1.5 years ago and we finally went today.  We spent a good part of the day exploring.  We started out at the Thien Hau Temple, just because we saw it from a distance and wanted to see what it was.  It’s a super pretty building.  I live the dragon carvings on the pillars.  Then we went to get…

    Hsi Lai Temple

TOP: J.C. Penny  |  PANTS: H&M            A couple of weeks ago my husband and I decided to do something a little bit more interesting. We visited the Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple, in Hacienda Heights.  It’s the largest Buddhist Temple in the United States and very close to where we live.  We both like the idea of Buddhism and have visited a few other temples.  It’s just interesting to see different cultures and the beautiful architecture.  Anybody is allowed to visit.  It’s just a fun thing to do when you want to do something a little different or look into other religions (never sure if Buddhism…

New Blue Jeans at the Korean Friendship Bell

PANTS: Kancun (T.J. Maxx)  |  TOP: H&M  |  SHOES: Sam Edelman  |  PURSE: Target  |   SUNGLASSES: Zero UV           I was shopping at T.J. Maxx the other day for things for my upcoming wedding reception and found these pale sea foam jeans.  I also got two other clothing items, but nothing for the reception.  They were only $12 and happened to fit really well.  I’m so happy about it because I can always use more pants.  These are distressed and have rips in the knees.  I think they are so cool because I’ve never seen colored jeans that are distressed.  Maybe I have but I’ve definitely never owned any.…

What I Wore: Hollywood Reservoir Hike

T-SHIRT: H&M  |  JEANS: Asos  |  SNEAKERS: Target  |  BACKPACK: Primark  |   SUNGLASSES: Zero UV (similar)           I’ve been wanting to blog this t-shirt because I think it is so cute!  I had my eye on it for so long and then it went on sale at H&M.  I’m pretty sure I got it for only $6! I like how it just says “Saturday” and has a vintage feel.  I think it works really well paired with my mom jeans because they have a high waistline and this top is cropped.  It’s no longer available online but you may be able to find it in store.      …

    Gingham Peplum

TOP: 1901  |  CARDIGAN: Poof New York  |  JEANS: H&M  |  SHOES: Massini  |  BACKPACK: Sole Society  |  SUNGLASSES: Marshall’s            Almost all of these items are new (from my birthday).  I paired them together because they are all black and white.  I love the gingham checker print mixed with the black and white speckled cardigan.  I wore my new black jeans with the outfit.  They are from H&M and honestly I regret buying them.  H&M jeans never fit me properly.  They are too tight in the thighs and too loose around the ankles.  Don’t you hate when you try something on and you think it fits?  Then you…
