My Birthday at the Getty Center
The Getty Center is an art museum that I have been wanting to visit. It’s different from the Getty Villa, which is the same company but a different museum. I decided to go on my 34th birthday. I had planned to go to Disneyland but the price was insane for that day and it was going to be very crowded because it’s so close to Halloween. I’m still going to go to celebrate my birthday, but in a few weeks. Anyway, I decided to go to the Getty Center as a back up because it’s just something fun that I have been wanting to do.…

3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica
TOP: Target | SHORTS: Target | SANDALS: Walmart | BACKPACK: Sole Society I feel like I hear a lot of people talk about The Grove, shopping mall. It’s located in L.A. There are so many good malls and shopping areas in the Los Angeles area that are so much better so I wanted to talk about a few of them. I recently went back to 3rd Street Promenade in Santa, Monica which is a pretty good shopping street and mall. There are some others as well but the Grove pales in comparison because there aren’t too many good stores, it’s always very crowded, and…

Travel Graphic Tees
TEE: Target | SHORTS: Target | SNEAKERS: Ked’s | SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V. | BACK PACK: Sole Society Do you love graphic travel-themed t-shirts too? I just feel like they are an interesting casual clothing item. I love how you can dress them up or dress them down. You can find them from so many places as well. I love getting them as souvenirs because they bring back happy memories and generally don’t cost too much. I am not opposed to getting them from chain stores or regular shopping places if I have visited the place on the tee. I got…

Venice Beach Canals
TOP: White Willow | SHORTS: Target | SANDALS: Kensie | BACKPACK: Sole Society | HAIR SCRUNCHIE: Anthropologie | NECKLACE: Assembled myself I have been wanting to check out the Venice Beach Canals since moving to Southern California, and haven’t gotten around to it until now. They are pretty famous and I always see photos of them and hear about them but had never been. Venice Beach gets super crowded on weekends and makes visiting almost impossible. We tried to go last Sunday but couldn’t find parking and had to leave. My husband and I just happened to be off Monday evening and decide to go…

Ruffled One-Piece
SWIMSUIT: H&M | SHORTS: Zara | SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V. | EARRINGS: Kate Spade | BEACH BAG: Bath and Body Works (gift) I got this swimsuit about a month and a half ago from H&M. I fell in love with the fabric and style. I actually bought it in a small and had to return it and get an extra small. It’s only available online, but it is so pretty. I’ve been looking for more one-piece swimsuits because I feel like they are more comfortable than bikinis. The only thing that kind of bothers me about this suit is that it is too high-cut, otherwise it would…

Places to Visit in Southern California
I’ve compiled a list of places that I think would be interesting to visit around me. These are all places that I haven’t been to before. I love getting out and exploring as much as I can but Southern California just has so much to see. I know there are tons more that should be on this list but these are the ones I could easily think of. If you live here or are visiting sometime, you should look into them. If you have been to any, let me know how what you thought. I couldn’t really include photos because I haven’t been to take…

4th of July 2020
TOP: Freshman 1996 | SHORTS: Target | NECKLACE: Shein | BAG: Coach | SNEAKERS: Target | SUNGLASSES: Zero UV | EARRINGS: Local Eclectic I’m sure a lot of people had a bit of a strange Independence Day this year. I did too. I normally go to the beach or on a boat and see a big fireworks display, but not this year. All of the beaches in Southern California were closed because of Covid. It was a real struggle finding ways to celebrate and have fun. Since I don’t really have friends or family in California to celebrate with it was just me, my husband, and puppy.…

First Day of Summer at Kenneth Hahn Park
TOP: Thrifted (Acemi) | JEANS: H&M | SNEAKERS: Target | BACKPACK: Ted Baker London | SUNGLASSES: Zero UV (similar) Today my husband, puppy, and I went back to the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area to hike some of the trails. Last time we went there we did everything else. Check out my first post if you want to know what else there is to do. We thought it would be a fun thing to do on the first day of summer. It’s not warm enough to go to the beach. It was pretty crowded because of Father’s Day but it was still super fun. I wore this top that I thrifted. I picked…

Some of the Best Spots in Southern California
Almost two and a half years ago my husband (then fiancé) and I moved from Indiana to California and since then, we have visited several fun destinations. We have done a lot of exploring. I haven’t been everywhere and still have a ton to see but these are my favorite spots so far. I have broken them up into 4 categories: beaches, views, parks, and hikes. There is some overlap but that’s okay. BEACHES 1000 Steps Beach in Laguna This beach is on the south end of Laguna. It has free street parking (get there early) and is pretty large. You walk down what…
