    Big Bear in the Fall

JEANS: H&M (similar)  |  TOP: TJ Maxx  |  CARDIGAN: Forever 21  |  SHOES: Ked’s  |   SUNGLASSES:  TJ Maxx (similar)           The leaves in Big Bear Lake are at peak color for the season so we took a little trip to see them.  It’s so nice to see changing leaves again because in the L.A area they don’t really change much.  There are a few random trees that do, but for the most part they stay green.  That’s something I really miss about the midwest.  Fall is so magical.  Big Bear is a nice little mountain town about two hours from L.A. and since it’s at a high elevation, it…

    Yosemite National Park Road Trip

Camped for the first two nights in Mammoth Lakes, at Old Shady Rest Campground.  Driving into Yosemite Toulumne Meadows: We spotted a coyote, some elk, and prairie dogs.  The Coyote was hunting the prairie dogs and they were all calling to each other.   This lake was steaming from the freezing morning temperatures.  It looked so pretty.  Hiking to upper Yosemite Falls.  We saw the lower falls and it was very tiny because there hasn’t been a lot of rain so we didn’t hike all the way to the upper falls, just part of the way.   Hiking the Mist Trail.  It’s been voted one of the best hikes in…

    Day at 1000 Steps Beach

TOP: Zara  |  SKIRT: H&M  |  PURSE: Coach  |  SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V.           We spent today (Saturday) at 1000 Steps Beach in Laguna.  Since it’s getting later into the summer, the weather is actually starting to get warmer.  We can finally spend some serious time at the beach.  I am seriously in love with Laguna.  I always find myself wanting to go back whenever we have spare time.  I think if I could live anywhere in California, I’d probably live there.   We were looking for a different beach to visit and came across this one on Google Maps.  It’s super nice and really huge.  The cliffs that surround…

    Back to Death Valley N.P.

Zabriskie Point Mustard Canyon Drive Artist’s Palate Drive Mesquite Flat San Dunes Badwater Basin DRESS: Billabong  |  SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V.           Over Memorial Day weekend my husband and I decided to take a little last minute trip to Death Valley National Park.  Since he had never been, we have been wanting to go.  I went a few years ago with my family (see that post here).  We realized that it is almost summer and will be too hot to go for a while.  We also had a free hotel night from Hotels.com and figured it would be a good time to use it.  This was our third free night from…

    Our Big Sur Elopement

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog or other social media accounts (Instagram), then you probably know that I just got married.  My husband and I had been engaged since October, 2017, so we had a pretty long engagement.  We wanted to take our time in planning and saving to pay for the wedding.  I think A year and a half engagement period was perfect for us.  We also didn’t want it to be as long as two years.  Also, after trying on some dresses I knew I wanted to make my own.  I had to have enough time to do that.  I will…

    Hawaii Honeymoon: Maui

For the second half of our honeymoon, we went to Maui.  If you missed my first post about Kauai, check that out!  We spent 6 days exploring most of Maui.  I’m sure that there is tons that we didn’t have time to do but here is what we did.            We stopped by Baldwin Beach the first day we arrived, for sunset.  We didn’t get a chance to go back, but it’s a super nice beach.  It kind of reminds me of Hanalei Bay in Kauai because there are mountains on the left side.             My favorite…

    Things to Do in Kauai

My husband (feels weird saying that) and I spent our honeymoon in Hawaii.  We went to Kauai and Maui.  This was my second time to Hawaii.  The first time I went to the Big Island.  Out of all three islands that I have visited, I like Kauai best.  My husband feels the same.  I wanted to share some fun things to do in Kauai if you are planning a trip soon.  I wouldn’t say that this is a travel guide, more of some ideas.  I always feel like you shouldn’t really write a travel guide unless you have been to the place several times and…

    Walker Canyon Poppy Fields

SKIRT: H&M  |  TOP: Old, from J.C. Penny  |  SNEAKERS: H&M  |  BACKPACK: Sole Society  |  SUNGLASSES:  Souvenir from Traverse City, MI           Walker Canyon is every bit as magical as it looks!  This is one of those places where the pictures can’t do it justice.  The mountains are literally covered in poppies.  It’s not just the mountains that you can see, they go really far back.  Every bit in the distance in some places are poppy covered as well.  You can hike all throughout them on dirt trails.  Because we had so much rain this year in California, the flowers are just popping up everywhere.…
